Yep, yep and yep.

I really lke the idea of these, although I also think that - and SO many people pointed out that it is nonsense to bring up this fact, becasue that's what the internet does - the devs should give a slice of the money to charity.

I mean, Tim Schafer managed to fool the world into thinking Brutal Legend was an action/adventure title, so the least he could do is drop 10% to Cancer Research. And, if anything, this would encourage more people to donate to the cause and he'd end up with more dosh anyway... maybe.

Or, they may be doing this already, correct me if I'm wrong, Mr. Smith.

On the subject of your blog, I think the fear of change and the "we've put OUR money into this" mentality could scare a few devs into not being bold enough. I'd prefer to invest money into sequels of recent games from struggling indie devs or bold ideas... not rehashes.

I mean, I'd even love to give EA a tenner to make Mirror's Edge 2, major or not. It's a game that NEEDS to be made, IMO.

Thanks mate, great read.

Great article. On a gaming note, second hand smoke isn`t doing the used game business in Japan any favors. Used cartridges are all covered in the yellow tinged of stale smoke!

Thanks for comparing Uplink and and Hacker Evolution. I've owned Uplink for sometime now and was wondering if Hacker Evolution was different enough to be worth buying.

Digital: A Love Story sounds like the 1986 computer game, Portal. In it you are astronaut who has just returned to Earth after years in hyperspace except all the people are gone. But you find a computer and then spend the game slowly hacking into it to discover what's happened. It's probably the best interactive novel I've ever played.

I just finished reading Blue Moon and just wanted to say that I enjoyed it very much. It was a welcome change from all of the Christmas stories (the only short stories I can find). Anyway, thank you. I'm happy to have been able to read it.

Aw, if I lived anywhere near, I would certainly drop by.
But I'm stuck here in Portland Oregon with all my books and toys, and a 16-hour flight away from UK.
Have a good time at the signing!!! :D
